Candace Dutton is the mother of Samantha Dutton and a one night stand of Jack Reacher. She later contacted the United States Army trying to gain child support from Reacher under the assumption he was the father of Samantha.

Jack Reach: Never Go Back[]
Sometime in the past, Candace had her daughter Samantha and later tried to get child support money from Jack Reacher by putting in a request to the United States Army. However, Reacher disputed the idea. Although, he was unsure of if Samantha was indeed his daughter.
He later discovered that she wasn't his daughter when Candace did not recognize him at a diner he and Samantha were meeting her at.
Personality and Traits[]
Candace is shown to be a caring yet manipulative woman who cares deeply for her daughter and works hard to provide for her. However, she is also very manipulative and was willing to make Reacher believe he was the father of her daughter despite never actually meeting him in person.

Samantha is a tall woman with long blonde hair and fair skin.
