In a Tree is the fourth episode of the first season of the Reacher Prime Video television series. It aired on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service on February 3, 2022.
Synopsis[]
Reacher dispatches the two South American assassins, and then finds Spivey dead in the trunk of their car. The burned remains of Joe's rental car are found. Reacher and Roscoe take the assassins car (with the 3 bodies in the trunk) and leave in the airport parking lot, after which Reacher and Roscoe check into a hotel where they receive a call from Molly Beth. They make arrangements to meet her the following day but find that she has been murdered at their rendezvous point. It becomes apparent that there are some leaks within the Margrave PD.
Plot[]
Reacher stuff the dead hitmen into the trunk of their car. Finlay tells Reacher that Joe's rental car has been located. Roscoe confronts Reacher about the info KJ gave her. Reacher tells her while he serving in near Baghdad, Reacher killed three civilian men who were sexually assaulting a group of young boys. Reacher and Roscoe drive the Hitmen's car to the airport and hide it in the parking garage. Later that night they check into an Atlanta hotel where Reacher gets a call from Molly Beth and make plans to meet the next day. While Reacher is in the shower, Roscoe joins him and they end up sleeping together.
The next day Reacher and Roscoe visit The Jobling's house, but it turns out that the house is Pete Jobling's parents house. They get the son's address and head over there where they find a home with very expensive furnishings which seems unusual for a truck driver. Mrs. Jobling says that she suspected that Pete was involved in something shady. They search the garage looking for clues, but find nothing. At the Margrave PD, Teale lectures Finlay about Kliner and tells him to stop investigating the Kliners.
Reacher and Roscoe meet Picard who gives them a lead on the motel Joe stayed at before he was killed. Reacher finds a hidden note with 3 phone numbers before Roscoe and he are jumped by more mercenaries. Roscoe saves Reacher's life. they meet up with Finlay call the phone numbers. He then calls Neagley and gets her to look into one of the phone numbers. Molly Beth arrives in Atlanta with Joe's files on the case, but someone kills her and steals the files before Reacher finds her.
