Pie is the eighth episode and season finale of the first season of the Reacher Prime Video television series. It aired on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service on February 3, 2022.
Synopsis[]
With Finlay, Roscoe and Paul Hubble's family being held hostage, Reacher is forced to track down Hubble with Picard watching over his shoulder. After shooting Picard and assuming he is dead, Reacher finds Hubble and rescues Finlay who is being held in a cell at the Police Station. The three are joined by Neagley and they launch an assault and rescue mission on Kliner's warehouse. In the aftermath, Reacher tells Roscoe that he needs to move on, but before he does, he places his Grandfather's WWII medal in the ground near to where Joe was killed.
Plot[]
Teale, KJ and Picard have Finlay and Reacher at gunpoint where they show a video featuring Roscoe who tells Reacher that if he doesn't do what they want they will torture and kill her, Charlie and the kids like they did Morrison. Reacher says he won't do anything because he knows that Roscoe and Charlie know too much and that they will be killed anyway. KJ says no, that he's sure that Charlie will be easy to control after they watch them kill Paul Hubble in front of them. KJ brags about his involvement with the operation and admits that he was the one who killed his father. He then also admits that he was the one who killed Joe. Reacher concludes that Dawson kicked Joe's body around while Morrison hid the body. KJ says that they need Reacher to find Paul Hubble as he is a loose end. They know that Reacher is a tracker and want him to accompany Picard to find Hubble. Reacher had until the following morning to find Hubble or the girls and the kids will be killed.
The Search for Hubble[]
Reacher and Paul drive off in the Bentley and Reacher convinces Picard that he needs a map and a place to sit and think. They go to the Margrave Diner where Reacher deduces that Paul is in Augusta. When the waitress brings Reacher some pie and coffee, he knocks over the coffee and while Picard is distracted, he pockets the fork. They go out to the car and Reacher sticks the fork into the rear tire. Finlay has been taken back to the Police station where he is handcuffed, beaten and then put in the holding cell by Officer Baker. The fork has done its job and the tire goes flat. Reacher and Picard go out to change it, but when Reacher opens the trunk, he grabs one of the guns that he took from Dawson's killing crew and shoots at Picard. Reacher tricks Picard into showing himself and then shoots him. Leaving Picard to die alongside the road, Reacher drives off to where he thinks Hubble is hiding. Reacher locates Hubble and tells him that his family is being held hostage until he is found. Reacher is certain that Hubble's family will not be released now that Paul has been found, and that Paul needs two do everything Reacher says in order to save them.
Rescue[]
Reacher drives to Hubble's house to get Dawson's truck with the intent of using it to rescue Finlay and mount an assault on the Kliner Warehouse. Finlay is still being guarded by Baker in the holding cell, and when Reacher sends a text to Finlay's phone to "Duck and Cover", Baker is too slow to react when Reacher drives the truck through the front entrance to the Police station fatally wounding Baker by pinning him up against the holding cell. After Finlay is released, Hubble arrives and they get weapons and ammo from the Police locker. Neagley shows up because she figured that Reacher was in trouble and needs her help after the unusual answer he gave her during their last phone call.
Leaving the Police Station, they go over to the Barber shop, knowing that Mosley will be sympathetic to their situation. While Mosley makes coffee, Hubble draws a layout diagram of the warehouse where the girls and the kids are being held. The group head over to the warehouse where they find that there are several guards posted outside and Reacher believes that there are many more on the inside. He feels that they are afraid that he will attempt to break in with lots of firepower. Neagley is assigned to take out the exterior guards.
Inside the warehouse, Teale tells one of the guards to move the two kids up to an elevated office leaving Charlie and Roscoe to worry about them. Roscoe tells Charlie to remain hopeful and that from what she knows of Reacher, he will be there to rescue them. Neagley kills two of the exterior guards while Reacher takes out the remaining man. He then pours gasoline under one of the roll-up doors and Finlay lights it on fire.
