–The Unit's Motto |
The 110th MP Special Investigations Unit was a fictional command within the 110th MP of the U.S Army Military Police Corps.
Shortly after Reacher was promoted to Major the second time, he was tasked with creating the Special Investigations Unit[1] and Reacher hand picked his team of Special Investigators which were then given many of the toughest cases the army needed to investigate. The team consisted of 9 of the best Investigators within the Military Police Corps, either people Reacher knew personally or those who he had heard good things about.
The headquarters of the Special Unit is located in Rock Creek, Virginia in a 60 year old two-story building surrounded by a tall stone wall. The building was originally purchased in error by the Army and sat mostly vacant until it was selected as the headquarters for the new unit.[2]
Reacher was the Commanding Officer of the unit for a two year period after which the members all received new orders. [3]
The unit's motto was "You do not mess with the Special Investigators," though the unit also took Reacher's biggest rule in his job—"Think like them, be them"—to heart throughout their years together and even after they had disbanded.
