Zach Kane was Darren Fletcher's right-hand man. He was the brute of Fletcher's Crew but also cunning and self-serving. During his tenure with the crew, Kane had resented Fletcher for his poor leadership skills, but remained outwardly loyal to the group. During the Tempe Gallery Heist, Kane killed a security guard named Dennis Knight. However, this resulted in his daughter's vengeful pursuit against him.
Following the incident, Kane continued much of the preparation for their final heist in The Ozarks. He called in his four former military associates and hired them as extra muscle. This act led Knight to trace him to the Ozarks through their movements.
